![]() In the Mix $9.99 I loved this movie. Usher did a great job as always, and the storyline was well put together... ![]() La Buche $14.98 La Bche (Season's Beatings) is a charming 1999 French comedy by director and screenwriter Danile Thompson. Thompson is known for her films, Cousin, cousine, Jet Lag, and Avenue Montaigne. Her directorial debut, La Bche stars Sabine Azma, Emmanuelle Bart, and Charlotte Gainsbourg, who play three grown daughters who conspire to reunite their divorced parents, who haven't spoken to each other for fifteen years. Set over four eventful days before Christmas, the film is a witty mix of holiday nostalgia and family dysfunction. The eldest daughter, Louba (Azma) lives with their father Stanislas (Claude Rich), sings bohemian songs at a Russian restaurant, and is having an affair with a married man, Gilbert (Jean-Pierre Darroussin). She unexpectedly discovers she is pregnant at age 42. Sonia (Bart) is financially successful, bourgeois, tightly-wound woman in the midst of a divorce. Milla (Gainsbourg), the youngest, is acerbic and lonesome. They associate Christmas with their parents' divorce. The film features a musical score by Michel Legrand, and earned Charlotte Gainsbourg a Csar Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. G. Merritt ![]() Erotic Daughters of Emmanuelle $24.95 A Nobel Prize winning scientist (Jacques Insermini), fed up with the moral restraints of modern society, "drops out" and creates an illegal sex commune hidden in the rural countryside. His son, (Jean-Marie Pallardy), learning of these orgiastic exploits, travels to the camp to try and convince him to return to his former, respectable life. When rumors of the hedonistic paradise reach the local authorities, a pair of undercover officers (Willeke van Ammelrooy and Jean Luisi), are sent to infiltrate the commune and bring those responsible to justice. ![]() Emanuelle's Daughter: Queen of Sados $29.95 Laura Gemsler is so sensual as always. I hope that Gabriele Tinti took acting lessons after this movie |
