 High On Arrival $25.99 This book disturbed me so much I can't properly express my feelings. I gave it four stars only because I couldn't put it down. It is a wonder MacKenzie or any of John Phillip's children reached adulthood. Ms Phillips told a horrifing survival story as bad as Stephen King or Dean Koontz could ever write. My heart goes out to her and I wish her only happiness and good things for the rest of her life. She has truly been to hell and back. How she forgave her father I will never know. He should have been in jail for child abuse for years. I can only hope where ever he is, he is paying the price.  Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice $14.99 Very brave of this cultural icon to share her story and soul with the world. Nothing that we haven't read, heard or assumed before about a child actor who peaked young and then tried to spend the rest of their life keeping up with their earlier success, but you can really hear the author's voice and feel her inner pain. Definitely wanted to give her a hug at the end. Hang in there, Maureen, we still love you, imperfections and all!  Behind the Bell $25.00 While he mentions some stories about SBTB - mostly hating on "Kelly" and "Slater", the rest of the book is just about his sexual conquests. I skimmed through most of it, not an interesting or fun book to read at all. |
