This new tape retractable is much safer and I liked it a lot, but the take ripped after about 5 months. Just not sturdy enough for a 40 lb. dog who pulls when she sees a cat!  Flexi Classic 2 Medium, 44lbs, Black 16ft. $24.99 The retraction on the leash is a little slow now, and we've only had it a few months. I'm hoping it doesn't completely give out for a long time, but we'll have to wait and see.
