(Fan Favorites)review.
Unlike the previous reviewer of THIS title,
I have NO INTEREST in getting every single
episode of this series [DIFF'RENT STROKES].
THAT being said, these eight episodes-- all
225 minutes-- served their purpose WELL:
AMERICANA for an American living in Europe.
I don't particularly love GERMANY-- the lan-
guage is difficult for me to master. However,
my wife is attractive; younger than I; and we
own a huge amount of land-- gotta volcano in
the backyard, and scenic mountains, nearby.
THESE Season TWO episodes (one with a very
friendly/likable Muhammad Ali, and, another
with an UN-likable Dabney Coleman). They are:

The FAN FAVORITES series is ONE way to get SOME folks interested in
titles that SOME people are interested in. SOME watched THIS particular
series a long time ago. When Gary Coleman was adorable, and Muhammad
Ali could-- I was gonna say BOX-- walk and talk at the same time.
Mister Ali actually was VERY talented in this show's episode. Sadly,
he out-acts e-v-e-r-y body else. THAT is why I am satsfied with THIS
number of episodes. No more for me, but THIS amount was EXCELLENT.
Brought me back to the days that I WASN'T on Social Security... I'm
beginning to have a little trouble actin' right, myself! If YOU are
interested in this particular series-- and other DVD-Titles-- support
the ones you'd like to see MORE seasons of. These DVDs--like automobiles--
are NOT manufactured for our PLEASURE... they're made to MAKE A PROFIT!
You LIKE it... BUY it! That's BUSINESS!

Gimme a Break - Season One

I recently purchased this dvd set and watched the whole thing in one night. I had forgotten how funny this show was. It is definitely very 80's. It's funny that some of the issues that they dealt with on this show were considered to be somewhat explicit at the time but not so much anymore. I also found it to be very interesting that Nell's character believed that she was an attractive, sexy woman even though she was not a size 2. (As a woman who is also not a size 2, I found it refreshing because you don't see much of that on tv these days.) Nell didn't let her size or race get to her because she believed in herself. There are some very, very funny moments and some very tender moments (specifically in the episode "Mom's Birthday".) I laughed so hard I cried and then I cried so hard that I had to laugh at myself. Anyway, the first season is great and I'd recommend it to fans of the 80's and anyone who likes to laugh.
