The third installment in the 'Die Hard' series continues the tradition of non-stop action.

In this one, Lt. John McClane (Bruce Willis) is back working for the NYPD after some time in Los Angeles. A madman villain, Simon (Jeremy Irons) insists that McClane play a game of Simon Says with him. A failure on any of the tasks will result in Simon blowing up something. On his first test, McClane is saved from a gang of hoodlums by a shopkeeper, Samuel L. Jackson, who aids him throughout the rest of the tests.

As with its predecessors, 'Die Hard With A Vengeance' is intense throughout. It contains lots of farfetched scenes, but there is certainly no boredom in watching this. It is a great one for fans of action shows.

I've seen this movie now in the theater, VHS, DVD and now on blu-ray. I can say for sure that the Blu-Ray version is the best version around. Anyone that tries to say that this version wasn't encoded up to blu-ray standards and is basically the same quality as dvd is full of it. Sure there are some scenes that are blurry - they were blurry when the movie was filmed guys, blu-ray isn't going to clear that up. What it did do was really bring to life the rest of the movie that was shot in focus. There are a select few scenes where the color is off-balanced as well. The other 98% of the movie is done fantastically well. I for one am glad that i took the chance on it. Trust me, it's a clear upgrade on an HDTV from the DVD version.

I liked everyone in the movie except Justin Long. It's something about his eyes that makes it look like he really is just reciting lines. Also, they should have threatened McLane's family much earlier. The truck and fighter jet sequence was terrible. Great movie overall and fine addition to the series.

The Die Hard films have been reviewed so much that all the critical points have been covered, so I'll leave the critical review of the movies to others. This collection is more geared towards those who have already seen the films and would like to have the blu-rays in their collection. To that end, the blu-ray set is an excellent value if you can find it for around $40 or less. I was thrilled to see that Amazon offers it for a reasonable price, and I picked mine up for $45 including shipping (though I've seen it in the past for as low as $35). Obviously the transfer quality improves with the each subsequent movie, and the last one (Live Free or Die Hard) looks excellent in 1080p. Great trip down memory lane for those who enjoy the franchise.
