Debbie Gibson's back with this, her 7th Album, which showcases her growth as an artist and producer. On her previous releases, such as "Think With Your Heart" and "Moonchild" she virtually writes and produces her own material (her songwriting credits even include the Billboard#1 singles Foolish Beat and Lost In Your Eyes back in the late 80's). This time, she's back with a material that has a strong inclination to the present mainstream pop audience. Check-out dance floor tracks such as MYOB, Your Secret ( a soon to be released dance single and take note of it's incredible lyrics!), Wishing You Were Here is great and melodic.
What Part of No is also one of the dance tracks that easily blends-in with todays pop acts. Also included are heartfelt ballads such as The One, In Blue (with a touch of Sade) and the touching, Jaded. This is an incredible POP album with a mixture of candid, vivid lyricism. This may be the best album for Debbie Gibson who now prefers to be called Deborah and in the tradition of her earlier stuffs, Deborah never dissapoints! (This special Japanese CD also offers a bonus track: Light The World a duet that Debbie recorded with R&B/Soul Supersinger Peabo Bryson; it's a song surely not to be missed!)

Take her or leave her, i give her credit for going broadway, and then spreading these tunes, by these diverse group of artists, out into the stratosphere.
now, to my point: CAN SOMEBODY GET THESE SONG CREDITS RIGHT? RAISE THE ROOF IS FROM THE OFF-BROADWAY 'WILD PARTY' BY ANDREW LIPPA, NOT THE BROADWAY VERSION BY MICHAEL JOHN LACHIUSA.
I don't mind LaChiusa getting royalty money whatever the case, I am a fan of his version of the full length poem, not much of Lippa's, but people. Somebody get this righ and corrected.

Miss Deborah Gibson teams up with Junior Vasquez in the studio to re-create Gibson's staple song "Only In My Dreams". For the late 1990's Deborah and Junior take the song into Euro Dance-Pop territory and what do you know? It works well. By the look of the cd's cover Miss Deborah does her aerobic exercise workouts to this High-NRG remake!

Now for the mixes. The club mix is complete and is the best on the disc. The shorter club version with Deb's "rap" comes in second and would have been good for radio. The Rave Vocal Mix takes it a bit serous with it's overall darker production. This mix is okay. Things get a bit repetitious with the four du(m)b mixes which seem to rehash each other over. Perhaps one dub mix for the Club and Rave mixes would have sufficed.

Perhaps the purpose of all these short dub mixes is so the dj can create his/her own version using bits from here and there and change things up whenever he/she plays the song in the set.

While I wouldn't call "Naked" a groundbreaking song or her best song ever, it is well worth purchasing. Over Deborah's 20+ years recording music, she has played around and experimented with various sounds and styles. "Naked" is a pleasant addition to her cateloge. "Naked" sounds earthy and raw and is sung with sincerity and conviction. While I think that technically Deborah's a better broadway singer than pop singer, it''s her conviction when singing the pop songs that make her pop music so great.
