![]() Here Today $17.98 If they'd stayed together longer, they'd probably have been the "Traveling Wilburys" of bluegrass. The group is composed of a much-younger Vince Gill, Emory Gordy Jr, Jim Buchanan, Dave Grisman, and Herb Pedersen. For the most part, the music is bluegrass and country. The musicianship and harmonies on this collection is outstanding. These guys sing almost with one voice. My favorites: "Foggy Mountain Chimes" with Hugh Pederson's outstanding picking, "Lonesome River" is just good all around, and "Sweet Little Miss Blue Eyes" could have come off of "O Brother Where Art Thou." If you love country or bluegrass, this hard to find collection is well worth snatching up. Rebecca Kyle, June 2008 ![]() American Experience: Hijacked $19.99 As a historical review of what was one of the more dramatic events of the 20th century, this movie is well done. It presents the evidence fairly, interviews both captives and hijackers, and gives them fair representation. It is typical of the quality of PBS. Only negative comment is that it links this hijacking to later terrorist acts, which takes it out of context. ![]() 28 Days Later [UMD for PSP] $19.98 The film is 5 stars, my complaint is the transfer. Despite the higher resolution it only looks marginally better than on DVD. I even played it on my 1080p computer monitor thinking the problem might have been my 720p television but it had the same problems. The picture is too soft, almost as if it wasn't filmed in HD (but of course it was) and there were specs on the screen as if I was watching it in an old movie house. Hopefully they will release a better transfer of the DVD and give those of us who bought this a discount on it :) |
