The movie was so so but jeez, its not that fun anymore. Watching the movie is like doing a chore. Only reason your watching it is hoping to see if they stick to the book.
Who knows how they'll butcher the last entry of the book.

I just wish they didnt make harry potter movies instead opted for tv shows. 7 season corresponding to 7 books. therefore everything is explained!!

This book was a surprise for a twelve-year-old who loves all things Harry Potter. She read this book cover-to-cover, and she is not a huge fan of reading because of so many truly haneous books being forced down her throat by ill-advised teachers, who know how to spoil the fun of reading for pleasure.

I briefly skimmed some of this book before wrapping it. In my opinion, it's not perfectly written, but clearly fills the bill for Radcliffe fans. And... Any book that can communicate that joy of reading again to a girl who used to love reading... Well, I'm all for it!

I could try to come up with solid and convincing reasons why this M/P Theatre offering really grabbed me, but all that matters is that it did. Kipling is portrayed very much as a British Teddy Roosevelt, bully bully, pacifists are traitors, damn the torpedoes,..... you know. And it all very predictably comes back to haunt him through his manipulation of his son. But the filming , performances, and themes all combine for an engrossing film, even if it is predictable. I kept thinking what a terribly difficult way to come face to face with one's ego, and understand yourself better. One of the very last things that Kipling says is that he let his son down, meaning that he did not see clearly and do right by him. This is one of those films where you can see it coming a mile away, and yet you're held transfixed.
