I had purchased this knife with high hopes, thinking that "37"layers of damascus steel would be as beautiful as it sounds. However, when I got it, I noticed that the blade is mostly made of a single carbon steel alloy sandwiched between two thin layers of folded damascus-style steel. The blade is then ground to give the appearance of a worked damascus blade, but it is nothing more than a laminated simulation of a much higher quality product. Don't buy this if you want a real wootz or damascus worked steel knife. The price is really right on for this level of quality, and otherwise it is a solid and attractive knife. I would not pay more than $30 for this blade.
