I thought this was an interesting book and read it easily. The only issue I have (and this may be politically incorrect) is with the victims. Of course it is horrendous what happened to them and I wouldn't wish it on anyone....but was it just me or were they two of the dumbest victims ever? I mean, how long does it take for you to figure out that the people you are with are insane and you need to get away??? I would not have even spoken to them after the bus let alone gone clubbing with them. And the victims were older as well. At least the female was. I just didn't get it. I know the victims are seen as helpless but they really weren't. There were plenty of times that they obviously knew something wasn't right and should have gotten the hell out of there...not gone back to get their swimsuits for a "dip" in the bath tub??? It wasn't even an actual out door hot tub!!! I do not think that what the crazies did is in any way excusable but the victims allowed themselves to be sitting ducks.
