 Subversive Cross Stitch $14.95 I received this book as a gift. I agree with the review that I could do these myself, without the book. HOWEVER, I never thought of it. This book was a great jumping off point for making my own subversive creations. The alphabet used can sometimes be a pain and getting used to her pattern style took a little time. All in all a great book.  New Cross Stitcher's Bible (Cross Stitch (David & Charles)) $24.99 This book was very appealing based on other descriptions given. I love cross stitching but am self taught through kits and my knowledge does not go that in depth. I've been TRYING to find books that will help me advance and give me more ideas and things to try. This book is great if you want to start other types of embroidery. It had some very beautiful samples and overall it was put together well. The only real pitfall I found was that out of the 200+ pages there was only a small section on types of different types of stiches and almost all of the samples were of everything BUT cross stitch done on Aida. MISLEADING, but good for the right audience... I guess.  Dimensions Counted Cross Stitch Kit-Oriental Butterfly $18.99 I order this to keep me busy at work during down tip, and it's great. I wouldn't say it's an easy pattern, but this is only my 2nd project, and I find it to be giving me the perfect amount of challenge. The kit contains everything you need except a hoop and masking tape. Comes with watermarked fabric (This is a counted cross stitch, not a printed. This watermark is completely decorative), floss, floss sorter, needle, and pattern. They include quite a few helpful hints and tips, as well as fairly simple, easy to follow instructions. If you are just beginning, or have been stitching for a while, this is definitely a good project to pass the time.  PC Stitch Pro Cross Stitch Software-Version 7.0 $79.95 I saw this product offered at a very good price. I want the PC Stitch Pro for a while. I can design my own cross stitch patterns. I have used this many times. It is really good. |
