![]() Southern Cross [Remastered] $0.99 A great folsky kinda song - makes me want to sit around a camp fire. Can't go wrong with the Amazon DRM free downloads. Great price and great flexibility. I love it! ![]() Demos $16.98 This is CSN at is best wooden music. Graham Nash made a great work choosing the tracks : 4 by Crosby, 4 by Stills, 4 by Nash. Only one is actually a real CSN demo (Marrakesh express) but all the performances are so great, the choice of tracks and the flaw so good, that it's a worthy new addition in the CSN catalogue. And actualy one of it's best. Enjoy ! ![]() 4 Way Street $27.98 The acoustic set - disk 1 - is a real pleasure to listen to. Really heartfelt. I couldn't ask for anything better. I don't think I've ever heard Neil sound this good. And on key to boot. I love his 'The Loner/Cinnamon Girl/Down By The River' medley. Crosby, Stills and Nash were stellar, as well. Simply beautiful. This is the kind of recording that requires being listened to on a good sound system. A portable mp3 player with earbuds will not allow you to appreciate the beauty of this music. And I love the between song chit chat also. It's comical. They seemed to be enjoying each others company during these shows. The electric set on disk 2 is a bit more problematic. The vocals seem kind of muddy to me. I would love to see this remastered again with the latest technology. That's not to say that it's bad, just that it doesn't have the clarity of the acoustic set. And their instrumentation wasn't as tight as one would hope for. The standout track on disk 2 is 'Carry On' - all 14 minutes of it. Excellent guitar work. Amazing. This is a timeless recording. It doesn't matter if you're 16 or 60, it's as beautiful today as it was 40 years ago. Look past the politics of the time and just enjoy the music. It's worth it. Looking back, these guys were such kids at the time, relatively speaking. Hooray for youthful enthusiasm. I am simply in awe of these guys. ![]() Dj Vu $18.98 Bought it on vinyl when it came out way back when. It too is a classic. Wanted it on CD too. I'm happy. |
