![]() The Country Girl $7.50 The Country Girl is being performed on Broadway for a limited run with some big name stars--Morgan Freeman, Peter Gallagher, and Frances McDormand. This is a re-make of a movie that starred Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and William Powell. Prior to seeing the live performance, I read this play. It is a simple story, but reading the written work before going to the show really enhanced the event for me. I was able to imagine Grace Kelly's work prior to seeing how Ms. McDormand interpreted the role now. Then I could contrast the performers, old vs. new. I even was able to get my paper copy of the play autographed by some of the cast members after the show. A real New York experience, and I would really recommend it! ![]() Mean Girls (Special Collector's Edition) $14.98 This is just a tad more intelligent than the average teen high school comedy, but the writers were smarter than the audience as the main review notes, so that's not surprising. LiLo does a good job here, evidently before she descended into drug abuse. Funny, she spreads a rumor that her teacher is a drug dealer. But her co-stars equal her performance, especially the meanest blond 'Plastics" member, whoever she is. The cast is outstanding overall. Good soundtrack, as expected. ![]() Peaches and Cream - Country Girls $14.95 I can't tell you how bad this sucked. This should be called washed up chicks with really bad Boob jobs. I should have looked at a review first, but I was in a hurry when I orderd this pile of crap. I should return it but I am just taking it as a lesson learned. |
