Countdown to Final Crisis, Vol. 1
Countdown to Final Crisis, Vol. 1

What was hyped to be a big must have mini series that would "change the face of the dc universe forever" just turned out to be yet another run of the mill crossover put out by a major company to gouge whatever extra money they can from the consumers pockets...too bad it took me about 4-5 months worth of weekly issues to finally realize this.

It's bad enough I already have a gripe with the "big two" (marvel & dc) for constantly bombarding us with crossover after crossover (not to mention all the tie-ins that they make us HAVE to buy in order to follow the story), but at least give us something memorable (like Crisis on Infinite Earths, Secret Wars, or even World War Hulk to an extent)! Infinite Crisis wasn't bad and I admit I haven't read all of 52 (which I heard some good things about), but Countdown was pitched to us as if to say "it's like 52, but better!" Unfortunately that wasn't the case and I dropped it halfway through the series. If only I could get my money back or exchange all those issues for some better books that i'd actually enjoy..

In closing here's my message to both DC AND Marvel...how about giving us less gimmicky crossovers and instead give us regular books that tell GOOD STORIES!

A modern aircraft carrier is somehow transported back to December 7, 1941, the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Very well done film. A family oriented film.

Countdown has been a long time favourite of mine - and like Marooned or the BBC series Moonbase 3 - one of the few attempts to present a realistic portrayal not only of the actual mechanics of space flight, but its politics as well. I've waited for Countdown to appear on DVD for years, and finally thanks to the Warner Brothers Archive imprint, it has finally happened. The menus are basic but perfectly functional, and the quality of the amamorphic widescreen transfer is well up to standard. All I hope is that this is a sign of things to come and that other studios begin to offer other titles which are wanted but not in sufficient numbers to justify a full scale DVD realise to market.

4 Way Spelldown Wooden Game
Fun, simple game, that can easily be transported. This game is great for traveling, or while you are waiting for another child to be down with sports. We take this to my daughter's swimclass. While she is waiting to start usually 3-4 other kids want to play with her. This game helped my daughter with her spelling. You can use it for their spelling words. The game has simple directions to learn. Everthing fits in the wooden box. My first grader, and my third grader love it.
