Historical inacuracies aside (minor ones however) this is fine film. Cliff Robertson seems a little too mature to play the young JFK, who at the time of the events portrayed, was in his mid-twenties. Robertson himself once said that President Kennedy choosing him for the role was probably the biggest mistake of his time. The leading man looks and build are things that as a young man Kennedy would have envied. But Cliff, and the rest of the cast, Robert Culp, James Gregory and a host of great charactor actors carry the movie well. Plenty of action as one would expect. And some of the quotes from the written accounts of the 109 incident are included. "For a guy from Boston, you're putting on a great exhibition, Harris" among others.

A while back, I read that at the Washington DC premier of the film, President Kennedy and his family and friends attended and Kennedy brother in law and staff member Steve Smith was sitting next to first lady Jackie Kennedy. At one point she shook her head and whispered to Smith "Oh great, now he's going to try to act like Cliff Robertson"

I confused this movie with another I saw years ago which is why I ordered it.The director and screenwriters sleepwalked through their jobs and it shows(I cant believe that James Clavell was one of them!)Even Harry Andrews, as solid a character actor as there is couldnt reclaim this woodenly acted/directed movie. O.K.,I know! The footage of the DeHavilland Mosquitos is outstanding,but it is a shame they didnt get a better picture to showcase their great wartime performance/history.If you are an air buff,watch the Mosquitos perform and snooze through the rest!
