![]() Starting Over $9.98 I still loved this movie, even after several years. Unfortunately, many of the scenes were dark. I don't know if it was the quality of the filming back then which didn't convert well in DVD or it was just the quality of the particular dvd. That's my only complaint. But, again, its a great movie! ![]() Newswire Photo (S): Alma Clayburgh and Police Glee Club $187.00 This is a museum-quality, reproduction print on premium, acid-free, semi gloss paper with archival/UV resistant inks. The print is framed with a single ivory matte under acrylic glass, and shipped insured, ready to hang and enjoy.Date: n/aTopics: HISTORY OF THE NEWSWIRE PHOTOSThis image comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection which represents one of America's earliest news picture agencies. The collection richly documents sports events, theater, celebrities, crime, strikes, disasters, political activities including the woman suffrage campaign, conventions and public celebrations. The photographs Bain produced and gathered for distribution through his news service were worldwide in their coverage, but there was a special emphasis on life in New York City. Kate Gunzinger(Jill Clayburgh) is a mathematics professor who flies to New York for her father's wedding. The wedding was never seen. She meets and falls in love with her father's fiancee's son Ben Lewin(Michael Douglas),a retired baseball player(injury forced the retirement). Charles Grodin is Homer,Kate's roommate whom she shares an apartment with in Los Angeles. However,in one scene,Ben plays in an all-star game with various real-life MLB alumni(those as themselves). Rounding out the cast are Dianne Wiest(FOOTLOOSE),Daniel Stern(BREAKING AWAY,MY BLUE HEAVEN,HOME ALONE 1 & 2,CITY SLICKERS 1 & 2) and Charles Kimbrough(TV's Murphy Brown). The theme song was a hit for Diana Ross in 1980 when this film was theatrically released. The soundtrack album is long out-of-print and was never re-issued on CD. The song appears on several compilations, though. |
