This collection of programs from the History Channel is a treasure trove of information on little known or previously forgotten incidents of the Civil War. At first I thought, "How could I have missed this series?", then discovered that the set is a compilation of previously aired programs that are informative, as well as entertaining. I have recommended this set to several people, and each one of them has reported that they are glad they have been informed about these little "jewels".

I've gotten behind on my comic book reading so I picked this up to try and help me catch up. While the story was great and alot of fun, I didnt see many of the characteristics I love from my favorite super heroes. It was also much shorter then I had anticipated. A little over half the book is just filler material and you really need to get the spin off character specific comics to get deeper into the storyline. Worth the purchase, but just barely.

This is an extremely in-depth look at the Civil War and covers many topics quite thoroughly. A minor gripe I had: while the use of reenactments of battles is not necessarily a bad thing (I'm a reenactor myself), when they use the same scenes over & over & over for many different battles it can get tiresome after a while! 3 1/2 stars.
