I then ordered a copy for a friend of mine who is going through a rough time in her life right now. Before giving it away, I flipped through the pages, and read the story by Jonny Lang. I am a 61 yr. old grandmother, but I have albums by him. I was just blown away, and had to order a copy for myself.  America's Game #20: 1983 Raiders $1.99 Every one of these episodes was great to watch even some of them on the 2nd or 3rd time around. Alot of the host interviewed players still get choked up with emotional joy when talking about their Super Bowl victory, their dream come true...........With the 1970 Baltimore Colts episode I got the feeling that the director of this one took a lopsided approach with the 3 player host interviews(Bubba Smith, Mike Curtis, & Bill Curry). They all had the feeling it was a bittersweet victory due to the PREVIOUS YEAR loss to Joe Namath and the Jets. Bubba Smith not wearing his ring???? This was a SUPER BOWL victory!!!! You can't tell me there were other players from that Colts team that felt this was their dream come true and were proud to this day to wear their Super Bowl RING!?! How about guys like John Mackey(tipped TD catch) , Tom Matte, Ted Hendricks, Rookies Jim O'Brien(winning Field Goal) or Norm Bulaich??? It would have been nice to hear from a more appreciative player(s). COLTS fans sure appreciated this victory!!!....If your any kind of football fan the America's Game Series is a must!.....even the 1970 Baltimore Colts. |
