![]() Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion Pack $19.95 First, let me make it clear that this is an expansion pack to Age of Empires III. You have to own a copy of that game first. I know that might trip some people up, so let's get that out of the way. When I bought this game, I expected to get some new indian civilizations out of it. I got a lot more. First, all the graphics for the game are better - not just for the new civilizations but for all of them. Second, the indians come along with new cards (of course), but again also new cards for your other civilizations. Now I can have the French build a Saloon to train mercenaries. And the Dutch can train some Ninja's (who have a new stealth skill). Very fun! There are also several new maps which I really liked. Of course there is also a new Scenario in two Acts. I thought most of the levels in the Scenario were well done, but a couple of them were just annoying. That didn't stop me from playing through to the last one - Custer's Last Stand! Some aspects of game play are also better for all civilizations: the healers, for example, just always heal anyone nearby who is resting. You no longer have to tell them to heal. In short, I wasn't expected the whole AOE III to get better, but it did - in every way. I have really enjoyed this pack and am looking forward to purchasing the Asian Dynasties soon. ![]() CTO Leadership Strategies: CTOs from Dow Corning, Travelocity, and more on Aligning Technology with Business & Impacting the Bottom Line as a Chief Technology Officer (Inside the Minds) $49.95 As I usually state with these: they are repetitive, but valuable. The unique side of this book is that it actually does explain (with some extra detail compared to its brethren) the strategies for leadership. Something that grabbed me for this book over its companions in the series was that its writers were a bit more spread out across the corporate world. The more diverse company products seemed to offer some interesting point-of-views from web sites, end-user product manufacturing to ISVs. It lacks information about what it really takes to enforce the strategies, though. It lacks information and an explanation of the actual patience involved and misses some detail about where the strategies originate from. |
