![]() Catch $8.99 This is by far one of the best books I have ever read! It is humerous, insightful, and very memorable. It is easy to read, informational and introspective. I have read it three times already! ![]() Catch the Moon $13.98 We were huge Elizabeth Mitchell fans when we got this. And as someone who "liked" Lisa Loeb before, I love her more on this album. Her voice seems less "sticky sweet" than on her pop songs I've heard. It is a mellow cd, but children need to be exposed to and enjoy mellow music too! Elizabeth Mitchell's music is very appealing to us as parents who want to expose our children to "real" music with a nod to American music's roots...including the other cultures that have influenced it...and that is more simple, without the silliness and bells and whistles. They have their place I suppose...but this kind of music is easier for parents to listen to, and exposes children to music that is wonderful and has them in mind...but hasn't been made super silly and super hyper for a particular audience that some childrens artists think can only appreciate that kind of music. The story inside the liner notes is sweet. It is short, but it is loving and a beautiful tribute to friendship and love. And the videos! My kids can't get enough of those two videos! It is good to know ahead you're only getting two songs, which is too bad...but they are delightful performances of the title track and a more 'spirited' song. Again, Mitchell and Loeb are dressed with toned downed earth colors..nothing flashy to distract from the *music*. For me it was a special treat because Elizabeth plays her tambourine, and I had just purchased two "real" tambourines for my kids, to add to their collection of small, colorful "play" tambourines, made for kids. ![]() CATCH: Attracting and Connecting Visitors (Go Fish! Series) $12.00 A grand-scope view of implementing effective evangelism strategies. For pastors and church leaders who are looking to reach people with the love of Jesus Christ. ![]() Catch!: A Fishmonger's Guide to Greatness $17.95 Honestly, I don't know if there is a better book on the power of having a positive attitude... I picked up a copy of this book at the World Famous Pike's Place Fish Market on a business trip to Seattle. The crew on hand signed the book, which I thought was neat. The main premise of the book is the idea of "It's all over here". (Quoting from the book) "That each person is solely responsible for his or her thoughts, feelings, emotions, decisions, actions... everything." The book expands on this idea by discussing how to align your behaviors with your intentions to create whatever you desire. It also mentions the importance of self-talk. Perhaps the second biggest lesson I gleamed from the book is that "Greatness is dependent on how you communicate with others, and more powerfully, how you communicate with yourself." While much of the book is dedicated to personal improvement, there are many business lessons as well. From a formatting perspective, each chapter concludes with a list of the main points, which reinforced my learning. In summary, this book is all about personal accountability. If you want to blame things on others or on external circumstances, then this book is not for you. However, if you want to take control of your destiny and realize that ordinary happens, but extraordinary is GENERATED, then read & digest "Catch! A Fishmonger's Guide to Greatness" as soon as possible! |
