![]() Inked $22.95 This book was a delight. The photographs are phenomenal and are well-shot; the stories are good. The text is readable, and there are nice vignettes about the art of tattooing - though it sounds like it would be more for tattoo artists in that respect. A disappointment was how many of the people involved were actually involved with Hart and Huntington studios - virtually all of them - either as customer or more likely, as employee. Virtually none have what would be called a "mainstream" or corporate job (the limosine driver comes closest). This book is more of a pictoral view of the best Hart and Huntington has to offer than it is a collection of stories of a slice of tattooed America. It is still worth getting - even though the slice of people represented sound narrow, they all have quite varied stories to tell, though not terribly in depth. This is an excellent book - just not a collection of stories of mainstream America and their tattoos. |
