![]() And Winter Came $18.98 I can see some of the negative points in the other reviews, for me, no Enya CD will equal Shepherd Moons with the song Caribbean Blue. That song seems divinely inspired. But everyone has their own favorite Enya song. But that's how it is with songwriting, some of the best musical work comes from an unconscious place as if by accident. And those inspired "mistakes" can't be repeated. But here are a few gems and all bring inner calm and peace. No cd library should be without a few Enya cd's as we all need music for the soul from time to time. Shepherd Moons Dream of Yogananda ![]() The Best Of Andrea Bocelli Vivere (CD & DVD Deluxe Edition) $24.98 I love anything Andrea Bocelli does. He has an amazing voice! I own several of his CD'S ![]() Crazy Love $18.98 Wonderful Michael Buble stuff. He seems to be growing into his persona. As usual, band backing up is fantastic! ![]() For Your Entertainment $13.98 First of all, I love Adam and want nothing but the best for him. But I was really disappointed in his AMA performance. Not so much that it offended me personally but because I felt that he did a lot of damage to his music career by alienating a certain segment of his fan base. I could be wrong and I hope that I am but time will tell. I wish him much success 'cause he's incredibly talented and deserves it. With that said, here's my rating for each track on the CD: 1. MUSIC AGAIN: It's okay. Will probably grow on me. Sorta had a Rick Springfield vibe. haha Just isn't a standout, for me, like some of the other tracks are. 8/10. 2. FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT: Catchy dance track. Good lyrics and cool beat. Definitely has a Britney Spears vibe...Can't listen to it now without envisioning his hunching some dude's face. lol 8/10. 3. WHATAYA WANT FROM ME: I like this song a lot. Will probably be a WOW after a few more listens. 9/10. 4. STRUT: Just okay for me but maybe it'll grow on me. 7/10. 5. SOAKED: Wow. Love it. There is something very haunting about this amazing track. 10/10. 6. SURE FIRE WINNERS: A crowd pleaser. Has a Queen, "We Will Rock You" feel to it. Will probably make it to the radio. 8/10. 7. A LOADED SMILE: Wow. Love it. My second fav on the CD. It'd suit me just fine if the entire CD was made up of songs like this, 'Soaked', 'Aftermath' and 'Broken Open'. 10/10. 8, IF I HAD YOU: I like it. Will probably grow on me even more after a few more listens. 8/10. 9. PICK U UP: Wow. Love it. Has a very theatrical feel to it. Adam's vocals blew me away on this one. I swear I thought 'Steve Perry' while listening to parts of it. 10/10. 10. FEVER: It's okay. But I am sure it will grow on me. It must have been written and produced by Scissor Sisters? (Not sure if that is the group's name - but it has that sound to me.) 7/10. 11. SLEEPWALKER: I love this song. But I wish could have had some input into the arrangement of it. :-) 9/10. 12. AFTERMATH: Wow. Love it. I thought, 'Daughtry' on this track, only better. 10/10. 13. BROKEN OPEN: Wow. Love it. Without question, my favorite track on the CD. Even when he was on AI I preferred his ballads. 10/10. 14. TIME FOR MIRACLES: I remember not liking this song when I first heard it several days ago. But it's growing on me. 8/10. I think 'For Your Entertainment' is as good (or better) as the freshman releases of Clarkson, Underwood and Daughtry. But will it have the same commercial success? I can't imagine that it won't but I guess we will have to wait and see. A message to Adam: On your sophomore album, less dance pop and hard rock stuff and more alternative, soft rock and ballads. That's for people who can't really sing. Like, I dunno..Britney Spears. So please, check out the songs I rated a '10' above if you need a guide. :-) ...oh, and a couple of songs with just your voice with guitar and/or piano accompaniment would be appreciated as well. To me, that is when you are your best. Sincerely. PS, Did I forget to mention that you rock? ;-) |
