Also, I read that Chris Blackwell and Island remixed Jack Ruby's production because it was too ferocious. Does anyone know if a copy of that is available? I know they reissued Marley's excellent Catch a Fire with the original, un-Chris Blackwell-ed version recently, and I was wondering if they had done the same for Burning Spear. I also really recommend Dry and Heavy, with one of my favorite B. Spear tracks, Throw Down Your Arms. Also, Junior Murvin, Peter Tosh, and anything produced by Lee Scratch Perry. |
