Well-researched and very interesting history about one of the oldest and most interesting ice hockey teams in the world. Interesting and in-depth, but very readable. For me, though, the book is worth it for the photographs alone. A must-read for any Bears fan or hockey historian.

I received this as a gift, and thought what most of us do when someone give you a book. Oh, Thanks... I really liked the movie, but figured what could possibly be in the book that would be interesting.

Once I picked it up, I found it completely addicting and entertaining. I got mad when I had to put it down, and it is so full of good stories, I already know I will read it again.

The book covers a lot of details about how the movie was made, and what hockey was really like in the 70's. It is amazing how hard a player had to work and live to make it to the NHL or WHA. The book is very insightful and with perspective that is often lacking these days.

Beyond that it is just a fun book to read. I mean really fun. Laugh out loud at times fun.

It's easy to dismiss Mr. Hanson as a goon, but he is the type of person that deserves everyone's respect.
Even as a writer.

I have a lot more respect for Theo after reading what he was going through. I followed him since his rookie year, this book helps answer a lot of questions at to what was going on behind the scenes. Its actually a really good read and Im happy to see Theo where he is today. It says as much about abuse and addiction as it does about hard work and determination. Im a hockey, Flames and Theo fan so for me this book was a 5 out of 5.
