![]() High Hopes & Heartbreak $9.49 This is a great CD. Good mix of upbeat and slow songs. Her songs have a kind of Jewel and Carly Simon feel to them. ![]() Songs From the Attic $5.00 The funny thing is, I wasn't crazy about Brooke on American Idol. I liked her, but I didn't love her. However, I thought she had potential, so I downloaded a couple of the recommended songs on her High Hopes and Heartbreak album and I liked them so much, I bought the entire album. Even my husband, who doesn't think today's music can compare with his favorites from the 60s and 70s, started humming along when I played the CD in the car. Eventually I found myself preferring to listen to Brooke than a whole lot of other singers, so I came here and ordered this album. And am I happy I did. I think it's terrific. I love her cover of Dream On, but I also really like Come To My Rescue, In Love, and Change. Actually, there's not a title I don't like. And if anyone hasn't heard her duet with Michael Johns, Life Is Okay, you don't know what you're missing. Download it. You'll play it over and over. ![]() Hold Back My Heart $14.98 I have had this CD for awhile, but I recently got a 64G Itouch and loaded all of my music (over 22G so far) and organized some cool playlists so I am listening to it more. I thought this album was just okay the first time through, Heart on my Sleeve is great and I liked "To Love Somebody" - nice cover of an old song. But the more I listen to it the more I like this collection. I have it in a playlist with David Cook, Daughtry, Constantine Maroulis and Kris Allen (Idol Albums) and this one really holds its own. I think it is worth getting if you like soulful/jazzy kinds tunes. He does have a soothing voice too. |
