A Village Lost and Found
A Village Lost and Found

$60.00
Based on 30 years of research, Brian May's painstaking excavation of exquisite stereo photographs from the dawn of photography transports readers to the lost world of an Oxfordshire village of the 1850s. At the book's heart is a reproduction of T. R. Williams' 1856 series of stereo photographs, "Scenes In Our Village." Using the viewer supplied with this book, the reader can become absorbed in a village idyll of the early Victorian era: the subjects seem to be on the point of suddenly bursting back into life and continuing with their daily rounds. The book is also something of a detective story, as the village itself was only identified in 2003 as Hinton Waldrist in Oxfordshire, and the authors' research constantly reveals further clues about the society of those distant times, historic photographic techniques, and the life of the enigmatic Williams himself, who appears, Hitchcock-like, from time to time in his own photographs.

I was very impressed with Brian's music. It had a Queen feel to it, but uniquely Brian May.

I've seen this being advertised on other sites from $149.00 to over 300.00! I paid 200.00 for mine and I'm not at all sorry as it's worth every penny. First thing I noticed is it's very well made. No cheap dials and as solid as a rock. I won't go into each setting as someone has already done that. Though somewhat skeptical about it reproducing that classic Brian May sound, all doubts were quickly wisked away as soon as I played through it. I have an Ibanez RG and a American Standard Strat and both sound amazing. It's very easy to use and the amount of effects and tones make this a really smart choice. I also love the extra bonus of the sixpence. If you've never tried playing with one, do yourself a favor, you won't want to use a pick again.

Just one important thing to keep in mind. This pedal will make your guitar sound like the Red Special. However it won't make you sound like Brian May unless you can play his licks and even then, there is only one Brian May and no one will ever sound exactly like him.
