Evolution of a Man

"WOW" seems too simple of a descriptive word, but regardless of how eloquently I try to express my thoughts, they wouldn't do "Evolution of a Man" the justice it deserves. This is definitely an album for those who have loved and appreciated Brian's work from the beginning of his career. In my opinion, his best vocals and lyric writing are most often reflected in his ballads, and this album has a good number of slow and moderate tempo songs that allows his genius to shine through. "Evolution of a Man," on my scale, certainly ranks up there with Brian McKnight's best works. My favorites on this album are: Another You, NeverSayGoodbye, While, BabyItsU, IMissU. WhatI'veBeenWaiting4, and....well, pretty much all of them. I didn't care for the fact that most of his song titles were written in a format that made them look like they belonged on a Musiq Soulchild cover, but once I started listening to this album, all of that became a non-issue. It was quickly forgiven and forgotten. Five stars for "Evolution of a Man"!

The CD tracks are a big help. The TAB portion was written by Arthur Rotfeld. As usual with TAB written by persons other than the player, I have found a few discrepancies, but over-all, an excellent addition to my learning/teaching library.
