![]() Essential Mix $17.98 Boy George is one of those few dj's that really likes to try and take you on a trip of his many different tastes on every one of his mixes. He spins straight from his gut and doesn't usually play tracks as just filler or a space between tracks, everyone is an essential piece to the mix. This cd begins in an almost dublike raggae place goes through some hip hoppy break beats and rampages through house and spins you through trance. What a refreshing mix to hear after dj's like Paul Oakenfold are so up on themselves they seem to have forgetten djing is about getting other people off instead of yourself. ![]() At Worst...The Best Of Boy George And Culture Club $7.99 I just listened to this CD for the first time the other day and I really liked it because it's very funny and entertaining. Is this really what kids listened to 20 years ago? My favorite song is "I'll Tumble 4 Ya." It's such a great song. I also like "The Crying Game," that's the only song I can remember because this has been on MTV (when MTV still stood for music-TV.) That Boy George is a cute kid, but he really shouldn't wear so much mascara. Or people will start to talk. You know how tongues like to wag. ![]() High Hat $11.98 One of Boy George's most interesting solo records to date. I first came across this cd at a second hand shop. And wasn't aware that George had made a solo record. I must admit that there are several songs on this record that are "SHOCKING". Anyway being a huge fan of Culture and George. I brought this record and only liked 3 songs, which are; Kipsy, Girl with combination skin, and my favourite on the record; Something strange called love. For those die hard George fans, this could be a goer but I recommend Sold as this had much more commerical appeal. However that shouldn't put any fan off from buying this record. ![]() A Night Out With Boy George $16.98 A terrific mix by one of the most independant thinking DJs out there. Boy George packs this cd with rare mixes ( his own ballad "Julian", remixed here into a great house track ) and songs that you just don't hear down at your local disco ( the fabulous "the Dealer"). This is not your everyday DJ mix. And George freely admits that in the liner notes, which to some could be seen as a kind of musical snobery, but in this case he is justifiably proud of this mix. |
