![]() The Big Bands, Vol. 1: The Soundies $15.98 I do not mind that I purchased it and it is OK to watch it every once in a great while but the image and sound quality is poor and as a Swing/Big Band era fan I am disappointed. ![]() An Anthology of Big Band Swing (1930-1955) $27.98 This set was the first jazz I ever purchased, and now after some 15 years, and an obsession resulting in the collecting of tens of thousands of recordings, it still holds up as one of the best available. This 2 disc set really shines because it nicely balances the mainstream with the little-known, and showcases excellent tracks that are not the obvious first choices from each artist. Being a GRP/Decca release the sound has been properly remastered unlike many of the cheaper "swing" compilations out there. The producers obviously knew their stuff! If you only buy one big band CD, get this! (unless of course all you really want is "In The Mood" and "Sing Sing Sing") ![]() The Big Band Era: 18 Greatest Hits $8.98 After hearing a band that specialized in Big Band music, I wanted a CD that I could listen to in the car. I love this CD. The selection is very good and I listen to it often. ![]() Glenn Miller - Greatest Hits $7.99 My parents introduced me to Glenn Miller when I was about 13 years old with this CD. I was doubtful at first, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with it. I'm so glad I was able to find this CD again on here. If you are a Glenn Miller fan, you won't regret buying this. If you have never heard of Glenn Miller and are interested in music from the 40's or just want to hear some music that will get you tapping your foot this is a great album to start with. |
