I've been playing Pokemon since the very first game came out and currently I own a DS pokemon game to link up with PBR. At first I thought this game was great because of the TECHNOLOGY upgrade but then I quickly realized that the concept is just stupid. The makers of the game clearly did not put too much thought if any into making this game.

Misconception:
You do NOT GET DAWN AND LUCAS as a customized character when you play single-player. The ads are VERY misleading.

Graphics:
The graphics are nice but they are still blocky and blurry if your TV is large enough. I own a 52 inch tv and have the 480p cable for the wii which exposes graphical problems. The graphic also look slightly worse if you switch the game to widescreen.

Single-Player Gameplay:
- At first when I was playing through the first few colosseum I thought it was pretty fun and time consuming. To unlock these colosseums (which have unique gameplay rules) you have to beat lower level colosseums. However some of you folks will quickly realize throughout the game that some of the colosseums are just the stupidest thing that ever came to Pokemon.
- The worse colosseum is the Neon Colosseum. I don't even know WHY they even put that in there. Basically to play this colosseum you throw in 6 of your random pokemon and the PC throws in 6 and then you randomly get a 4 pokemon out of the 12 that CANNOT be manipulated in your favor. It's completely luck even if it looks like you can pick the pokemon when the wheel spins. The problem with this? You have to beat 7 trainers in a ROW in order to proceed. Beating these 7 trainers early in the game is the ONLY way you can unlock more colosseums and if you can't beat them in a row you start all over. Now battling 6 trainers take up 50 minutes to an hour at least for this colosseum. If you do the math you will realize how much of your precious life is paid to play the game. Now imagine how frustrating you will get every single time you get to the 5th-7th trainer and they beat you because they got your pokemon and luck out. The odds of winning 7 matches in a row for this colosseum is about equivalent to flipping a coin and getting 4 heads in a row, once per hour, and while you are frustrated at the game. At least it can be done right? Just remember you have better things in life.
- I play the pokemon game with a damn calculator and after 4 hours of this one colosseum I still can't beat it. Why? Because for some reason when I am about to make my finishing move, my pokemon misses and then get KO and I lose.
- Single-Player mode for some colosseums feel more like WORK than fun because it's the ONLY way you can unlock the real fun colosseums.
- It's really apparent that the development team didn't sit down to play the game and see if people would really have fun working. There's only ONE POINT of the game and that is getting achievements.
- There is no random battle against the computer like in the old pokemon stadium games.
- You can't customize your team with rent pokemon like Stadium 1. You have to EARN a PRE-MADE pokemon team that is literally crap. Ex. Charmeleon with tackle. You can load your better pokemon from the DS but some colosseums will FORCE you to use rent pokemon.
- You fight against the same NPC over and over.
- The AI is really stupid sometime. Ex. Butterfree uses poison powder on you 5 times even though your pokemon is already poison.
- Then sometimes the computer just accidently use the right move and KO you. Ex. Spinda spams tackle for several turns and for no apparent reason suddenly shows you that it always had water pulse and KO your fire Pokemon.
- The NPC will eventually have legendary Pokemon vs against you so if you don't have your own DS game with EV and IV trained pokemon, you're going to get even more frustrated.
- You CANNOT freely adjust the rules of the colosseums.
- There are NO MINI-GAME. It's ALL ABOUT WINNING AND REWARDS.
- If you folks notice, many of the animation are taken from the old pokemon stadium and just modified with slightly better graphic. Ex. Vioplume will faint the exact same way from the old game. They are recycling trash and making you pay $45+.

Multi-Player
- This is the ONLY positive part about the game.
- You can get on wi-fi to battle random people around the world and it doesn't take that long to load.
- You can customize the rules when you battle.
- You MUST HAVE A DS GAME.
- The clothing for the character is unique even though the camera barely focus on them and they ALWAYS have the same body movement.

The Goal of the Game:
- Unlocking colosseums.
- Earning points to buy clothing for your character.
- PUZZLE BATTLES + LUCK
- Winning.
- Fun is not one of it.

Conclusion:
- I'm giving 3 stars ONLY for fun because multi-player is fun when you have your own DS game and only about 2 colosseums are fair and fun. I would have given 4-5 stars for fun but only for multi-player. Single-player is too frustrating and feels like work because the game is all about achievements.
- I'm giving 1 star Overall because OBVIOUSLY the game could be SO MUCH BETTER. Seriously the development team needs to get fired and replaced. They were LAZY in making this game and the ONLY creative concept they thought up were obstacles in the game that weren't even fun. Did they really think people would get a thrill out of working in a game? Why is this game all about winning even when you play single player? It should be about fun and not overcoming stupid puzzles in a pokemon battle. Finally, about the whole thing where they are just recycling old animation from the old game and making you pay more is just a rip-off.
