 Welcome the Night $39.99 The fact that it took me this long to write this shows how dissapointed I still am. I was really looking forward to the release of this disk. I loved "Astoria" although even though "Kris" was getting a little too poetic and pretentious already; Sting is great but we don't need another one. Especially one that doesn't have the chops and songwriting ability that he does. Those qualities make Sting almost bearable; although apparently there will never be another The Police disk. That's when I stopped buying Sting. The fun, hooky, and personal stuff of Astoria and before seems to have dissapeared entirely. Now it's "Kristopher" Rowe. When I first saw that in the credits before I even listened to it for the first time I thought, "uh, oh, this doesn't bode well". And I still wanted to like the disk; Kris' songs were such a huge part of my life before. I like strings in Rock. I like expanding boundries. I admire doing something different than before. But I don't like mediocrity and dissapointment. It took 4 years to come up with this crap? Where are you Kris? We want you back. There is plenty of "serious, literary-ish, self-important" artists out there; I would rather have The Ataris back.  V-Rally 3 $19.99 Amazon.co.uk Review The latest in Segas highly successful series of off-road racing games embodies the best and worst aspects of the racing genre: its great fun, and unlike some racing games its possible to smash huge chunks off your motor and give it a, er, structural redesign. On the downside, its hard. Very hard. The learning curve is almost vertical and it takes a good couple of hours' practice to get to the point where you can keep the car on the road for any length of time. Get past this initial sticking point, however, and V-Rally 3 is excellent fun. Graphically its gorgeous--low sun blocks the view of the horizon in winter weather, and the snow courses look so real its tempting to get out of the car and construct a quick snowman. Sound, too, adds to the flavor with fully realistic engine sounds and a co-driver who gets almost sarcastic when a mistimed bend results in an unfortunate meeting with the scenery--again. Race modes include an arcade driving section and an excellent career mode which allows the competitive player to tackle the 20 top-class vehicles available.
