The movie I purchased was in excellent condition. I haven't seen it since it was first released at movie theatres and it was a treat to see it again. The quality was nice, the price was very reasonable, the shipping timeframe was very good and I have no complaints whatsoever!!

I wanted to like this story and it started off promisingly...mysterious death, and small town baseball. But the story sort of veers off course with the introduction of the pageant and Frances (the description and behaviors of whom are just too way out there), then the whole idea of race relations, and Walt Whitman. I felt as if the author had many goods ideas, perhaps too many for one book...and none well developed. My sons spent more time asking for clarifications than listening to the story. Perhaps if I hadn't been expecting a story about boys and baseball and instead was reading it as part of a history lesson, etc. it might have been more enjoyable.

I'm sorry, call me old-fashioned but I know most of those artists, with the exception of Mint Condition, were not the best artists Anthony Beverly(Frankie's Son) could find. I think better artists could have been used...especially with the songs that artists had problems maintaining the proper notes. Maybe it's because I'm so used to hearing Frankie's signature voice on their songs that I feel no one can come close to comparison. I like Mint Condition playing the music, but again, some of the artists could have been replaced.
