It reminded me very much of Half Life and plays like the classic type of FPS game that we all love. You settle right into it. Full of great scenes and action,.....the bad guys and the creatures are highly aggressive, let me tell you. I like to play games like Call Of Duty at Veteran difficulty setting,....and this game had my adrenaline going. This one was a delight to play and is well made,....don't be put off by the age of it. Much fun.

I just want to start this off with saying, I LOVE the original Alien movies. So I was amped about this movie and really wanted to like it.

I'm pretty disappointed by this movie. The story is very thin/weak and the characters are dumb. When I say dumb I'm talking about the cheap horror movie dumb where the person running from the monster decides to run into the woods, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere without a flashlight. So they find an unknown heat signature and want to check it out, thats fair. BUT when they see the hole that was dug overnight, and see that it blasted through one of the near by buildings that would be a red flag to me. If you look at the path the tunnel makes through the ground and through the building it means either the tunnel was dug from under ground and went up through the buildings, or it had to come from above the buildings (space). That would be a HUGE red flag, and I think I would cancel the whole trip right then and there. Either that or set up some remote surveillance type stuff and go home. But instead they go in looking for digging equipment.

You would think once they got down to the bottom of the hole and saw no equipment and no team of people they would want to turn around. Nope, lets go in!

Apart from that, the character development is very poor. Dialog poor. Action was shot at too tight, making it unintelligible. The CG was cheap and almost amateur looking. The lighting in the CG didn't match the lighting of the scene so whenever the movie would cut over to CG it really jumped out at you saying "hey this is cg". Also there is a scene where the helicopter is flying over the ocean in daylight and you can see a pattern in the waves of the water. Very cheap CG. I could go on and on but I'll stop here.

Ok, so I just finished reading the Aliens vs Predator Omnibus. So what did I think?

Overall I felt the collection was pretty balanced.

"Aliens vs Predator" - I'd give this story a 8.5/10. The story focuses on a human colony that gets caught in the middle of a Predator Xenomorph (Alien) hunt. Probably the story with the best human characters. There are a ton of Aliens and plenty of action.

"Blood Time" - 10/10 - This is the best story in the book, and it's only 8 pages long. Sometimes less is more. There are no humans in the story at all. A seasoned Predator takes a clan hunting Aliens as a right of passage. Has an outstanding conclussion.

"Duel" - 8/10 - A group of colonial marines investigates the planet featured in the story "Aliens vs Predator".

"War" - 6/10 - Part one of this story was really promising as a continuation of above entries, but I felt it began to fall apart in Part 2. Too bad, because I really liked the way this story started. The ending sucks.

"Eternal" - 7.5/10 - Probably the best drawn story in the book. The plot is ok, but it's really the artwork that shines in this one. The Aliens look fantastic and so do the Predators. I wish they were all drawn so well.

"Old Secrets" - 3/10 - Another one shot. Completely pointless as it has no action at all. Just some old priest walking around talking about Saint George and the Dragon. Boring.

"The Web" - 2/10 - Complete crap. I don't know what else to say. The plot? Think AVP-R and Alien Resurrection...yeah; it's bad. Furthermore the story is in complete black and white. (I'm glad it was only 20 pages) Read it on the toilet so you don't waste valuable time that you could have spent doing something else more important.

Pros: 465 pages of story: no ads and most of the book is full color (only the last 20 pages are B&W).

Cons: Missing cover artwork. Often the most beautiful art of a comic book is the cover. Wish they would have included all the covers and not just a few.
