I USED to love this lotion. I have used it for a while with no problems. However, I recently purchased a bottle from a local health store. Very soon after I applied it to my skin, my skin started to burn and turn bright red. I was shocked, because this had never happened to me when using the Alba Very Emollient Unscented lotion. I since have been reading reviews on several sites, and this seems to be a common problem recently.

If they changed the formula, they obviously didn't test it on too many people before releasing it. If they didn't change the formula, they now have a major manufacturing issue. I just wish I still had an old bottle so I could compare the ingredients. I do NOT recommend purchasing this lotion until ALBA has resolved this issue!!

Alba in general makes great products. This is a great value for the size. It smells wonderful and it's not over powering. Most sented soaps leave you with an over powering sent, and this does not, if you like suds, this does it! I would however check vitacost for a price on this and I know Amazon seems to not always have it in stock.

This is hands down my favorite body lotion. I have year-round dry skin, and it is so hard to find a lotion that will moisturize my skin thoroughly without leaving "build-up". The Very Emollient Body Lotion absorbs completely into my skin and moisturizes better than many other brands I have tried (Aveda, Lush, Bath & Body Works etc...). The fact that it absorbs completely makes it perfect for use in the summer. It's like I don't even have lotion on, just naturally healthy soft skin. I personally like the smell quite a bit. It smells like aloe vera and chamomile. It's clean, light, and--as another reviewer mentioned--does not conflict with perfumes.

**A Note to Buyers:
While the price listed is the average price you will see this lotion being sold for, I have found it at many stores for less. Mostly at stores that specialize in organics. I've seen it being sold at Whole Foods for $15 (regular price, not sale). So, check your local co-op, or Whole Foods.
