If you are considering adding this film to your Alan Rickman collection, don't bother. Rickman's performance is nice, but the film is so overwhelmingly dull that you will simply end up fast forwarding to the Rickman bits. I can't imagine who thought this script was worth making.

Its presence on FearNet notwithstanding, Dark Harbor is much more of a character-based drama than a thriller, so be aware of that going in; that said, it's a rather slow film whose surprise ending doesn't redeem 90 minutes of relative tedium and non-existent tension, so maybe we should just stop worrying about its genre and skip it altogether.

I have seen a number of movies which chronicle the civil rights movement and this is by far one of the best. I cannot remember a movie which captured me from beginning to end as this one did. It is much more than just a historical record. The actors were superb.

I found this book very illuminating. I never would have guessed that Alan Rickman's true personality is so different from his many screen personas. It was very interesting that his role in Truly, Madly, Deeply is close to his real life.
Being an American, I found some of the abbreviations and idioms hard to translate. It was nice that the author included some pictures of Alan Rickman in the paperback book.
I hope that some day Mr. Rickman will write his own memoirs so that we can see his life in his own words.
