![]() Age of Empires III, Gold Edition $39.95 I have a few friends at school that play this game with me and I play on line with other people from all over the US. It's a good time to get together with my dad also. ![]() Age of Empires III: Complete Collection $49.95 What I wish I knew before purchasing the product is that although I can play over the internet I can't play over the internet with anyone who owns a Mac. PC to Mac incompatibility is a great disappointment and those who wish to do so need to be informed before product purchase. Another quirky distraction is the heavily accented English vocals. A British, Australian, New Zealand or American accent would be more pleasant to the languages native speakers. I hope both of these issues can be updated in future product updates. This is a great game for allowing the user to imagine and create. Much of the background history for Asian Dynasties, in particular, I had only been exposed to briefly and so I actually am learning a lot of history. ![]() Age of Empires III Collector's Edition $49.99 I have played all the AOE games and love them. This one actually has a bit of a story to entertain you as you go from mission to mission in the campaign. ![]() Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion Pack $19.95 First, let me make it clear that this is an expansion pack to Age of Empires III. You have to own a copy of that game first. I know that might trip some people up, so let's get that out of the way. When I bought this game, I expected to get some new indian civilizations out of it. I got a lot more. First, all the graphics for the game are better - not just for the new civilizations but for all of them. Second, the indians come along with new cards (of course), but again also new cards for your other civilizations. Now I can have the French build a Saloon to train mercenaries. And the Dutch can train some Ninja's (who have a new stealth skill). Very fun! There are also several new maps which I really liked. Of course there is also a new Scenario in two Acts. I thought most of the levels in the Scenario were well done, but a couple of them were just annoying. That didn't stop me from playing through to the last one - Custer's Last Stand! Some aspects of game play are also better for all civilizations: the healers, for example, just always heal anyone nearby who is resting. You no longer have to tell them to heal. In short, I wasn't expected the whole AOE III to get better, but it did - in every way. I have really enjoyed this pack and am looking forward to purchasing the Asian Dynasties soon. |
