 The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African American Children $22.95 I have not had a chance to read this yet it is for one of my secondary education classes.  She Slipped and Fell $14.75 I was so excited to order this book and couldn't wait until it was delivered thanks to all the 5 star reviews. What a waste of anticipation. Thought the writing was simplistic, the characters one-dimensional, the pacing stilted, the sex cringe-inducing...I tried to like it but just couldn't. Hours of my life and $10 of pay never to return.  I Love My Hair! $6.99 I purchased this book for my daughter 3 years ago and it has been a God send. It's a beautifully wriiten book with superior illustrations. In the beginning, I would read to her, now she reads it to me. The message confirms for her the core values we regularly practice in our home.  The Hidden Cost of Being African American: How Wealth Perpetuates Inequality $19.99 These book discuses some hard fact about the financial challenges in being African American. The problem is in stating the condition and show the unfair elements of it does not bring about change. There is a need for African American to realize the conditions are what they are and only they can change the outcome. |
