![]() The White Album (Remastered) $24.98 Most people owning this 30-song collection know the basic history behind it. What people may not necessarily be aware of are subtleties that make this particular and most recent edition differ from the preceding versions. As mentioned before by other reviewers, McCartney's bass sounds sharp, pronounced and impressive. There's a rather tricky (also impressive) sounding drum part in "Dear Prudence" that I never really even acknowledged until I heard it on this remastered version. The vocals for the chorus in "I'm So Tired" are a bit more separated and, up until I heard this version, I always thought it was a single John voice performing it. Guitar bits throughout "Yer Blues", subtle sounds and vocal parts not heard in previously issued versions of this album, as well as a more-present harmonium in "Cry Baby Cry" and an absolutely HUGE sounding orchestra in "Good Night" are just some of the features of this new edition of "The White Album" that make it stand out from the other previously issued versions. The music will always be absolutely fantastic and stand out on its own, but the clarity and incredible sound quality overall make this an essential (and worthy) purchase. ![]() Abbey Road (1990) $18.98 There really isn't anything to say about this great album that hasn't been said already. This is an album you can definitely play straight from start to finish. The remastering is great even though it uses the exact same mix as the original. But what makes this even more essential now is the booklet that comes along with it as well as the mini-documentary at the end of the disc. The booklet features photos of the band as well as historical and recording notes. The documentary which runs about four minutes long has interviews as well as footage from the video "Something" (noteworthy in that not all four members of the band are in the same shot, a sign that the end was near). I'm not a big fan of the way the remasters are packaged but at least I don't have to worry about replacing a jewel box. At any rate, whether you had this album already or not, get this version anyway. Either way, it's an album that falls under the word timeless. ![]() Revolver (Remastered) $18.98 If you love the Beatles, you'll love this remastered recording. You can hear everything so much more clearly than in the original recordings! Great mixing and engineering! ![]() Let It Be (Remastered) $18.98 It's very simple, this is the best production CD of the "Let It Be" album that has ever been released. If you are a Beatle fan this is a must have item. I have purchased three new remastered CD's (White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road) so far and plan to purchase the others soon. Trust me on this one! |
