![]() 5 (REISSUED WITH 2 BONUS TRACKS) $8.94 I have always loved Lenny. He has always been a great artist with great music. I dont like alot of his older stuff. When 5 came out that was when i got turned on to him. I remember listening to this album all the time on my way to the basketball court with my friends. And around that time was when "Fly Away" and "American Woman" became big hits. So i bought the album, and i wasnt dissapointed, but there wasnt a whole lot of truly speacial matireal on it. This was one of his funk albums, not his signature Pop/Rock style. And while there were a few great tracks such as the mellow and relaxing "I Belong To U" and the smooth "Little Girls Eyes", there were also a few tracks that almost made me laugh. Such as "Black Velveteen" which was almost a techno track about... well to be honest it was about a vagina. But the biggest thing about this album was that while it did not sell a whole lot, it helped rejuvenate his career after the disaster that was Circus. People pretty much had written Lenny off as a has been after Circus, but then he put out 5 and it shot him to superstardom again. Basically this album isnt great, but its not bad either. It lays right in between somewhere. Grade: C+ ![]() The 5 Factor Diet $24.95 I feel this book is a good step in eating right when you don't always have the time, and it offers some nice exercise examples. That being said, if you don't eat dairy, specifically cheese, this book may not be as helpful. I found many of the recipes cheese laden with rocotta and/or mozzerelli. Since I'm not a fan of cheese (for various reasons) I found many of the recipes unsuitable for me. I would love to see this book with a new edition offering many healthy recipes (without dairy) while still being low in calories. ![]() The Daily Five $18.50 This book was given to me by our Principal. Many of us were feeling overwhelmed by center management. We were so busy making centers filled with little pieces that were getting lost, and trying to keep track of what everyone was doing, grading it, and making sure that they were getting the things they needed to be good readers was overwhelming. This book made the idea of centers easy to do and management of the centers, manageable! It is a quick read and easy to put into place. I started this concept in the middle of the year, and was amazed at how much my kids responded to it, and how much more time I had at home! ![]() 5 $14.95 This is a simple yet profound book. It's essence is to help one realize life is now and that it can easily slip by if a person does not live purposely. Five promotes setting goals to achieve ones purpose. It is artistically laid out and offers many inspiring quotes. I felt motivated to begin setting goals after I read it. |
