On May 14, 1948, the British officially left Palestine and on the same day, the State of Israel was immediately declared by David Ben Gurion, acting as its provisional Prime Minister. America was the first country to officially recognize the new State of Israel - eleven minutes after it was declared. U.S. President Harry Truman signed the letter of recognition - despite the objections by The United States Secretary of State George Marshall and the entire State Department. Immediately after the declaration an all-out war broke out between the Jews and Arabs. Seven Arab armies attacked the new Jewish State. Eventually, the Arab forces began to lose the war. As the war was raging the Jewish leadership begged the local Palestinian Arabs not to abandon their homes but the Arab leadership forbade the Arabs to return or live in areas under Jewish rule. Unfortunately, in one form or anther, the war and battles that began in 1948 have continue to this day. ![]() Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD 2-Din DVD Multimedia AV Receiver $600.00 I got this headunit last month and finally had it installed. It looks great in my Altima, the touch screen is real responsive and the menus are not complicated at all. I also purchased the CD1200 cable to use my ipod with it and thats works great as well the screen mimics the ipod menu.It doesn't come with the remote which kinda sucks but it's not that expensive i think it runs 20.00 if u don't buy the cable you could also use the usb it can handle up to 250gb also you can bypass the safety feature where it doesn't let you see video while the car is in motion simply take the wire that connects to the parking brake and connect it to ground and the other to a small switch that you can turn on and off twice this will trick the headunit into thinking the parking brake has been pulled touch ok on the caution/warning screen and your good to go not that i'm suggesting watching videos as your driving but your kids will enjoy a movie while your driving overall it's a good affordable pioneer product not many cons here. ![]() iVIEW 4000KR Home Progressive Scan Karaoke DVD Player w/USB & SD $79.99 I thought I was getting a quality karaoke machine for home at a great price. WRONG! I got it home, hooked it up, and it all went down hill from there. It did play all of my disks, although it loads fairly slow. The mic volume is nearly non-existant and I found my self almost yelling into the mic to get my vocal out even though it was turned up full blast. The worst thing was when the picture starting flipping as if the horizontal hold on your old T.V. went haywire (remember those days?!). I basically used this thing for an hour-and-a-half and put it right back into the box. I should've known straight-away considering the unit seems to be made fairly cheaply. I guess you get what you pay for. That said, Amazon did ship this thing to me super-fast and accepted its return without complaint. They happily refunded my money. I have now placed an order for the VocoPro DVX-668K. I hope I have better luck with this one. Do yourself a favor and avoid the iVIEW 4000KR!!! *ALOHA* |
