 Charlie Rose - Jeff Zuckerr (May 20; 2008) $24.95 At the start of this show Charlie Rose reports on the news that Senator Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. He then speaks for the rest of the show with NBC CEO Jeff Zucker who is a surviving cancer patient. They speak at the outset about Zucker's struggle with cancer. Zucker talks about how this has put his life in perspective. He also says he speaks about his bout with the illness in order to provide help to any other patient who might be helped by him. The main part of the show is about NBC 's business. Zucker talks about the various businesses of NBC, the entertainment, the news business, their digital operations. This is a great show for anyone interested in knowing what is going on in the business side of the Media. But I found it a lot more informative than exciting. Some interesting points. Zucker talks about the need to increase overseas business if the companies are to greatly increase their profits. He distinguishes between the 'born digital' and the older viewers, and says the world is moving more and more towards the 'digital'He speaks about the emerging business model in regard to this. This is again a good show for those interested in how media people think at the 'highest level'.
