 Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit $378.00 Unfortunately I did not read about the problems with the Makita BL1815 (1.5Ah) battery. I wish I had. This drill kit gets two stars instead of 5 on account of the batteries. The kit comes with two 1.5 Ah batteries, and a promotional offer meant that Amazon threw in one extra for free. One of the three did not even charge once. The charger indicates that the battery is bad and refuses to charge it. I opened it up and all the cells measure fine. The charge fuse turned out to be blown so I replaced it, but it still won't charge. I'm now waiting for the next one to die... How a quality company like Makita dares to dirty its good name with such poor quality is beyond me.  Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6" Display, U.S. Wireless) $259.00 I have heartily recommended the Kindle to friends and family, and many have bought one. If only Amazon were a dollar stock...I could make a fortune. Will have to settle with the joy I find in having all of my books with me whether it is waiting in an office or relaxing at the beach. I read many of the Kindle reviews before buying as well as Sony reviews, and have nothing but high marks for it. In a few years, I hope they come out with one that has a back light, and is waterproof.  Ingersoll Rand SK4M14 1/2-Inch Drive 14-Piece Metric Standard Impact Socket Set $43.50 These were some really nice looking sockets. Unfortunately I bought them from Amazon's used store (basically reselling things that were returned) and two of the sockets were duplicated, so I was actually missing two (I'm sure this is the reason it was returned, but I guess they couldn't figure out it shouldn't be resold). I do plan to buy these again because they are such a great deal, and they look great. Just waiting until I actually have a need for them again. |
